This site is just sprouting, but veganic seeds are already available at Full Sky Farm.

What is veganic agriculture and why is it important?

Veganic agriculture adheres to the organic standards yet goes much further by protecting animals, wildlife, insects & pollinators, native plants and human health. No chemicals or GMO’s are used in veganic agriculture, and also no animal inputs are used ensuring a fully ethical and ecological approach to growing food. By working with the land in this mindful way we honor the Earth’s true nature, promote biodiversity and nurture a sustainable ecosystem.

Conventional and Organic agriculture often rely on animal-based inputs as fertilizer, such as blood meal, bone meal, feather meal, fish meal, and feces, which are most often sourced from factory farming operations and slaughterhouses. The use of animal products not only harms the animals which were raised to slaughter, but also drives the demand for animal feed—primarily GMO monocrops such as soybeans and corn which are heavily sprayed with chemicals such as Roundup. Organic agriculture not only allows but most often depends on the non-organic factory farming operations that are causing widespread environmental destruction and human illness.

When an agriculture system uses animal inputs in growing crops it introduces the potential for animal diseases to be passed into the human population. The various medications, vaccinations, and growth hormones that are present in animal products are also introduced into the soil and can be taken up by crops and wildlife. Animal pathogens such as e-coli, salmonella and listeria regularly contaminate vegetables that are grown with the addition of animal inputs, just think about how many times we hear about recalls on lettuce and other produce for this reason.

Veganic agriculture promotes a sustainable, healthy, and Earth-friendly approach to growing food where everyone benefits.

Full Sky Farm has grown veganic seeds, herbs and food for a decade, while also working to rewild the 70 acres into a sanctuary for wildlife.
